Hydraulic tilter – Capacity 80 t

Hydraulic tilter - Capacity 80 t

Morello has designed and constructed for a major steel mill a hydraulic tilter for large loads to tilt steel products by 90°.

This type of machine is growing in popularity in any manufacturing industry with large loads to tilt. It allows the tilting of loads in a quick and extremely safe fashion, and avoids suspended loads and other risky operations.

This electro-hydraulic tilter is extremely robust and is designed to work under the trying conditions of the iron and steel industry.

For this reason the tare weight of this heavy-duty hydraulic tilter exceeds 30 tons and the loading beds are covered by a 50 mm-thick plate.

This tilter is not only strong but also provides optimal performance. It can actually tilt 80 tons of steel by 90° in only 60 seconds thanks to the 2 Siemens motors and overall power of 60 kW.

If one motor is damaged, it is possible to continue operating with a single motor at half the speed.

Tilting is performed by 4 oversized cylinders powered by a hydraulic control unit comprised mainly of Bosch Rexroth components. The hydraulic control unit is equipped with an oil collection tank of suitable dimensions.

Control of the machine can be  through a radio control or through a pendant push button station.

To guarantee worker safety, this heavy-duty hydraulic tilter is provided with 2 laser scanners with a reading angle of 270°. If someone gets too close to the machinery during operation, the laser scanner detects them and stops the movement.

All tilters can be customized on customer request in every detail. Here you can see some examples: Tilters
